Dr. Rajiv Agarwal completed medical school from prestigious King George’s Medical College in 1989 with certificate of honors in 6 subjects. He was awarded “College Blue” for the best all round performance in studies and sports. He was awarded national honors at age of 35 years by the Indian National Science Academy in the form of the ‘Young scientist award” for innovative work on developing surgical treatment methodologies for face deformities. He completed craniofacial fellowship at the prestigious International Craniofacial Institute, Dallas, Texas with Dr. Kenneth Salyer, and a pioneer in craniofacial surgery. He was been awarded many International Scholarships and honors by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons. He was conferred with fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh.
He has published more than 80 papers including book chapters and books in plastic surgery. He has designed and patented two new distraction devices for distraction. He has innovated many new techniques in plastic surgery which have been well published in leading journals of plastic surgery. He is invited as faculty in many national and international conferences in plastic surgery and travels widely to present his work and network with friends around the world.
He is currently serving as chief of plastic surgery in one of the country’s premier tertiary level postgraduate medical institutes. He has been helping victims of acid attacks on the face by performing corrective surgery procedures for these patients at low cost.
